These clients wanted to create a gracious casual kitchen/living area for their growing family that would easily flow into their large outdoor living area. While their home had formal dining and "sitting" areas, they wanted the less formal areas to be completely suited to their tastes. Working with a local designer, she brought all their aesthetic dreams to life and left the functional to me. One of the challenges was getting the cooking surface in an area where the client was facing guests but still in the major appliance triangle. A "t-shaped" island ended up being the answer, with the cooking surface a safe distance from seating. What a beauty!
