What about current events?

I bet somebody is trying to buy my domain name right now, and it has nothing to do with housing, or living safely in your home. I have been overwhelmed with the news just like you have these past few days, weeks, months, etc. I have 2020 Fatigue Syndrome. I don’t like to get political, or argue about any “side”, and less so in the past few years given the fact that I am figuring out life is too short. I have found out that usually, I get too mired in “caring” about a relationship or issue. I am trying to learn how to be an “observer”, “attender” but not so much of a “doer” which is my nature. So, what can I say about “right now” (yes, I am getting ready to state my opinion)… First of all, I can’t remember the last time I went to the Capital grounds in Raleigh. If you ask me what statues or what things are memorialized there, I can’t answer. Honestly, it doesn’t matter much to my daily life. I don’t drive downtown every week, and I’m too busy working (we both are) trying to make sure we can live in our home and maintain it, that ‘where a statue is’ or ‘who it is’ doesn’t matter much to me. I think it does matter to some people’s daily lives though. I know some who all but worship those monuments, and I know some who want them gone, and are angry every time they encounter them. I might not think we should memorialize (not erase, MEMORIALIZE) negative historical events and monuments that keep us from moving forward in history, but I also don’t think you should knock down something that doesn’t belong to you, drag it down the street and damage it and run it up the light pole on a noose…. Listen, I have been on the “conservative” side of an issue before, not AGAINST the other side, just supporting the side I believed in. I lost alot of friends over that- so they wanted me to not just “accept” what they believed, but “EMBRACE” it as well. So just keep that in mind when you are speaking about your beliefs, you made it to the first step- you got an audience.. Let them listen and come to their own conclusions, and you listen to them and their opinions with an open mind, and then refrain from shoving your opinion down their throat and dismissing them from your life if they don’t believe just your way. We are all different, that is what makes us special. You don’t have to be best friends with somebody who doesn’t share your views, but they also don’t need to become your sworn enemy. Just sayin’. Jesus tells me through the Bible that the most important commandment He could give is to LOVE your neighbor. I am working on this (yes love can be work) to love people on both sides of this issue. I’m still in the trying-to-figure-it-out phase. I look desperately for days we can live in peace, without Coronavirus, desert dust, murder hornets, and whatever else is in store for us this year. Last year this time, I was looking forward to bright, bright days in 2020. Today, I’m looking for bright, bright days wherever I can MAKE them! I realize they are not coming to us voluntarily. Y’all have a good weekend, look for peace, and make room for everybody!
